Colchester United have signed striker Dan Holman from Conference Premier side Braintree Town on a two-year contract.
The 24-year-old netted 24 times in 55 appearances for the Iron, but rejected a new deal in order to try his luck in the Football League.
Holman joined Braintree from Histon in August 2012, having scored an 29 goals in Conference North for the Stutes.
"Dan gives us another option in the forward areas of the pitch," Colchester boss Joe Dunne told the club website.
"He is a player we have watched on many occasions over the past two seasons and we're delighted we were able to bring him in.
"He has the ability to create and score goals for us."
