MK Dons have signed defender Kyle McFadzean from Crawley for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old has agreed a two-year deal at Stadium MK with the option of an extension.

He will end a four-year career with Crawley, where he won promotions from the Conference Premier to League One.

"I can't wait to get started. I've known the interest for a couple of weeks and I'm delighted to finally get it sorted," he said.

McFadzean becomes Karl Robinson's third summer signing following midfielders Danny Green and Mark Randall.

The centre-half started his career at Sheffield United, but only made one substitute appearance before joining Alfreton in 2008 and then Crawley two years later.

He played under current Dons head of coaching Richie Barker at the Broadfield Stadium during the 2012-13 campaign.

"The style of football the team plays will suit me. The manager has already told me what he wants from me here and it's what I want to," McFadzean added.

"I wanted a new challenge, and if you look around the place it's a big challenge, but one I'm looking forward to."
