Rangers midfielder Kyle Hutton has agreed a new one-year contract with the Ibrox club.

The 23-year-old's deal expired this summer but he has been handed a new contract as Rangers prepare for life in the Scottish Championship.

"You never want to leave a club like this so I'm over the moon to agree a new contract," Hutton said.

"I am confident in my ability and I will work hard to try and get a place in the team."

Hutton's first-team appearances were limited last season due to a series of injuries but manager Ally McCoist has shown faith in the player, who came through the Murray Park youth ranks.

"It was frustrating to miss so much of last season through injury, but I am fully fit and ready to play a part in our rise back to the top," Hutton said.

Rangers this week added striker Kenny Miller and defender Darren McGregor to their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.
