Conference Premier champions Luton Town have signed striker Ross Lafayette on a two-year deal after he rejected a new contract at Welling United.
The Wings say the 28-year-old had agreed to stay at Park View Road, but later U-turned on the deal.
He scored 17 goals in 41 games last season for Welling, including one against the Hatters in a 2-1 loss.
"Ross is a player we have had on our radar for a number of years," said Luton boss John Still.
"He showed that he could make the step-up from the Conference South to the Conference Premier [with Welling].
"Ross has a lot of ingredients which make him an ideal signing. He's quick, he's strong and he knows how to score goals."
