Preston North End have signed former Huddersfield Town defender Calum Woods on a two-year deal, from 1 July.
The 27-year-old was released by Huddersfield last month after three years with the Terriers and will now be reunited with manager Simon Grayson.
Grayson told the club website: "I worked with Calum at Huddersfield and he is a real good lad.
"He is a versatile player and can play in either full back positions, centre back and even in midfield if asked to."
Former Liverpool youngster Woods joined Huddersfield from Dunfermline in 2011 and went on to make 81 appearances for the Yorkshire club.
