James Milner - to take to the World Cup, or not?Well let's see (appearance stats from Wikipedia)At Man City since 2010 - PL champions and a club that can afford any player it wants:2010-11: 32 league apps2011-12: 26 league apps2012-13: 26 league apps2013-14: 20 league appsHe MUST have something about him. If you can't see it that's your problem, not his.
Wellbeck? A whinging, whining individual who rather than pull his metaphorical socks up when not selected for his club side, would rather take his gripes to the press/board/colleagues. Genuine waste of a space. Other than that, well done Roy, good, young squad, which makes a change from the dinosaur squads we've taken to recent tournaments.
Smalling must make great cup of tea!
Everyone slagging milner off, cant think why,he is only one of the two english players at man c who earned his championship medal, still you geniuses must know more than pellegrini, mancini ,hodgson, etc
@1185. davidindevonThese are the players I would've also included to give the young players a confidence boost that they haven't been thrown in the deep end.JOHN TERRY (Captain of parking the bus)ASHLEY COLE (knows every winger's trick in the book)JAMES MILNER (title winner)PETER CROUCH (there are lots of little south american teams, im being serious)MICHAEL OWEN (better here than BTsport)
@1184.Edward_de_Bonehead James Milner!! ....Does he know something about Roy?A journeyman in every sense of the word. yet first on the team sheet. Baffles me does that one.-I often hear this said. And perhaps people don't rate Milner because his contribution isn't apparent when seen on TV.Watch our Euro 2012 game against Italy again. As soon as Milner was taken off, we sank.
@684. David Wyn@711. SirMouseburgerOptimism and belief is the only thing that will keep you from now until the first game in the World Cup, but this is not the U21 World Cup! The world class players who will do everything it takes to win it.Adventerous youngsters? More like victims. Instead of a balanced game, it will be one way traffic and they won't be able to hold the ball.FATALITY!
Hodgson said he would only pick players on their club form rather than for historic/sentimental reasons. If that is correct why has he picked any Manu players? They have been carp all season. Of course I will be classed as an ABU which will be correct of course but nobody can convince me that any of them is worth a place. Picking them is like making Moyes The Chosen One. Ludicrous in the extreme.

@1177.backchatter @1157. JohnMYou forgot to mention that, amongst Smalling's other qualities he's particularly adept at giving the ball away to the opposition more often than he's able to complete a pass...-FAIL.If England picked players for their ball-keeping, then the 747 would be more or less empty.Smalling's a defender. Leave distribution to the wingers & midfielders.
Can't see this lot beating Puerto Rico, never mind Italy or even Uruguay!A classic shower. But the best shower there is available in England... 1158: Seaman world-class? Haha. Oliver Khan = world class keeper! Butcher & Adams? Haha. Think Breitner, Schwarzenbeck, Brehme. Lineker Owen Shearer worldclass? Ha flippin' ha. None of them ever won ANYTHING. So they were not good enough!
Forster,Baines, Jagielka, Cahill, Shaw,Ox, Barkley, Lallana, Sterling,Sturridge. LambertWe will win with that team
