Match ends, Salisbury City 0, Gateshead 0.
Salisbury failed to score for the fourth game in a row as they played out a goalless draw with Gateshead.
The two sides, who are both just outside the play-off places, cancelled each other out in an uneventful game.
Long-range efforts from Salisbury's Theo Lewis and Gateshead's James Marwood were both off target.
The best chance of the game fell to Gateshead's veteran striker Jack Lester, but he shot straight at keeper Will Puddy from close range.
Salisbury City manager Mikey Harris told BBC Wiltshire:
"I think it's a point gained. Very pleased to keep a clean sheet following conceding four on Tuesday, the boys showed good resilience, good resolve.
"I don't think we got our game going today, I think we can do a lot better. It was a case of both teams cancelling each other out.
"Certain players needed a rest. It was nice to see the lads that came in to the team doing well."
Gateshead manager Gary Mills told BBC Newcastle:
"We've taken four points from two tough away games, which has kept us in touch, and three out of our next four are at home.
"Jack Lester had a chance from a great move but the ball seemed to get stuck under his foot and James Brown had an opportunity with a header at the far post just before that.
"Our goalkeeper Adam Bartlett hasn't had a shot to save in the 90 minutes, and I'm disappointed we've not come away with another three points this week.
"It's very close at top of the league. We've dropped three places, which shows how tight it is.
"We haven't won enough home games recently and that's got to change next week against Lincoln."
