Plymouth Argyle 0-1 Burton Albion

Burton Albion claimed their third consecutive league win to end Plymouth Argyle's eight-match unbeaten streak.

The only goal came on 12 minutes when Adam McGurk latched on to Phil Edwards' long ball and fired past keeper Luke McCormick from just inside the box.

Pilgrims defender Neal Trotman saw his header cleared off the line by Robbie Weir and Reuben Reid volleyed over.

McCormick saved well from McGurk after the break, while Trotman sent another header just wide as Plymouth pressed.

Burton move up to sixth in the League Two table, but are one of five teams level on points with second-placed Chesterfield.

Burton Albion assistant manager Kevin Summerfield told BBC Radio Derby:

"Three clean sheets is something that you don't get very often and three wins as well. So I don't think it could have gone any better really.

"Today was really tough. You could say that at times, we didn't deserve to get the three points.

"I thought the team showed a hell of a lot of character today. And when their backs are against the wall, they all roll their sleeves up and they patiently did great to get the three points."
