Burton Albion 1-0 Mansfield Town

Billy Kee came off the bench to secure victory for Burton Albion against Mansfield, whose losing streak extended to five matches.

Stags goalkeeper Alan Marriott produced fine saves to deny first Chris Hussey and then Dominic Knowles as the hosts had the better of the first half.

Mansfield improved after the break and Lindon Meikle twice forced Burton's Dean Lyness into action.

But the Brewers won it when Kee nodded in Adam McGurk's cross.

Mansfield, who are now without a win in nine League Two matches, slip to 17th, while Burton occupy the last play-off place in seventh.

Burton manager Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Derby:

Gary Rowett

"The two games were always going to be crucial, but you don't want them to define your season by any shape or form.

"But they just came at a nice time where you're thinking if we can just turn this home form round a little bit, it helps because if you end up losing the two games, a little bit of negativity can creep in. Then you can get a bit of fear factor creeping in when the players turn up at the Pirelli, whereas last season, it was obviously a fortress.

"I thought it was really important that we just tried to stamp our authority on these two games and I think the way we've gone about both of them has been pretty good.

"We've started both games really well, we've had just that little bit more tempo about us and a little bit more energy in the areas we've wanted it and we've been very pleased with both results."
