@242Not a bad idea actually :-)
The BBC could run the 606 comment facility much cheaper than they did and why have moderators ? What happened to free speech and the outrageous comments could be deleted by a number of readers objecting. So if 100 readers pressed a delete button the comment would disappear. SIMPLES!!
this is awsome
People should realise that advertising In the Superbowl costs a fortune and Reals chase of GB has given publicity worth many tens of million euros so a players transfer fee is more likely to reflect his profile rather than his status on the pitch. It was said that the Ronaldo fee was recouped in profit from shirt sales 6months after signing but Real are still being reported to be $500m in the red
Cut the kid some slack, he didn't fix the fee, he's bright enough to know that he has to deliver under intense scrutiny, CR7 he may not be but he's pretty darn good in my view. We should be proud a local boy has gone onto one of the biggest stages in world football and is going to give it a go - all power to him.
tottenham rejects thriving in spain then. great tongue in cheek coverage of bale in madrid and other stuff here. http://baleinmadrid.com
everyone seems to think that transfer fees are over inflated yet the same people keep paying for football - just do not get the mentality but then again we are talking about football fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ragsy,Bale is a good player, but in my opinion overrated. Personally i find some other players better and more valueble, but thats my opinion. Dont think Spurs got weaker without him and Eriksen is a class signing. Plus if getting Bale in means that Ronaldo will underperform, like against Villareal, then i wonder if its an ideal signing for them as i rate Ronaldo higher then Bale.
@229Shouldn't you be doing your homework ? School tomorrow. Your new boy is no oil painting either is he so probably best to leave the looks out of it and concentrate on what they are doing on the field eh ?
He's a diver and playacts to the max, but it's nice seeing a British player abroad at a big club. Shame it doesn't happen more often. Need to get some British homegrown over to Munich/Dortmund/Juventus etc.
@229 Aww somebody crying cos a spurs player worth more than half the gooners team!
@229 Pretty cheap shotBale will take time to settle, It was away from home, against a decent side, 100m EUR price tag, not match fit yet he scored so just shows you even when he's not having his best game he can still threaten. Give him a few games especially at the Bernabeu and he'll come good
So much hate on here, watch the goal, he looks ecstatic when he scores, like it's a dream comes true. He has the right attitude and he's a genuinely nice guy. I'm a Chelsea fan but I wish him the same luck I wished Ronaldo when he left United. Class transcends who you support.
