Alvaro Negredo: Man City complete deal for Sevilla striker

Manchester City have completed the signing of Spanish international striker Alvaro Negredo from Sevilla.
Negredo, 27, arrived in Manchester on Thursday to undergo a medical before finalising the deal.
He joins former Sevilla team-mate Jesus Navas in new manager Manuel Pellegrini's reshaped squad, and will wear the number nine shirt.
Fiorentina attacker Stevan Jovetic could be City's next summer purchase.
The 23-year-old is rated at around £28m, and has previously attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.
But Negredo is the first deal completed as City spend big in the transfer market to try and win back the Premier League title they lost to arch-rivals Manchester United last season.
At a farewell press conference in Seville on Wednesday the former Real Madrid player said he was looking forward to taking his career to the next stage.
"For four years I have been very happy, but I think my time was over here," the forward, who scored 26 La Liga goals last season, said.
Ex-Sevilla winger Navas, 27, sealed a £14.9m transfer on a four-year deal earlier this summer and Negredo said: "I am happy to be spending another year with him."
Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido said: "Manchester City are buying a great player, the top-scoring Spaniard in La Liga.
"This is a big deal for Sevilla, the second most important in our history after we sold [now-Barcelona full-back] Daniel Alves, and the player will sign the contract of his life.
"Everyone should be happy - it is a great deal for all three parties."
Negredo has won 14 international caps, scoring six goals, and was part of Spain's victorious Euro 2012 squad.
Sevilla, who have faced financial difficulties, have also sold playmaker Luis Alberto to Liverpool,full-back Antonio Luna to Aston Villa, and midfielder Jose Campana to Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile........Man Utd are giving us a tabloid circus every day....with Moyes showing the management skills of the chief clown.
I assume you mean Kolo Toure not Yaya. But I agree City have got rid of a lot of 'dead wood' this summer and problematic players like Balotelli and Tevez have been offloaded for decent fees given the circumstances.
Dark Star, UTD was once that Big Bully taking the best of British talent, Jordon/McQueen, Cole/Yorke, Young, Rooney, Carrick but now they are the bully sniveling in the corner because someone bigger and tougher came along.
Hart
Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy
Fernandinho
Navas, Toure, Silva
Negredo, Aguero.
That is a very very mouth-watering very balanced team. Excellent for City. Three very very good signings for them. That is how you get things done with minimum of fuss.
Add Navas' pace to that and City's attacking line makes for quite the intimidating read.
It's Chelsea vs City this season for the title this time round from where I'm standing. Personally, out of the two of them, I hope it's City.
Negredo's good - this should be a good season...
Press caps lock and spell check before pressing the post button dumbo. By the way I think you'll find Utds profits are mostly reinvested into the Glazer fund and servicing debts. And long may it continue!
Not true! Our system takes any youngster that wants to play and then makes them run around like madmen to win lots of meaningless matches. We ensure that our players can run and run and run. We waste no time with those that only have amazing ball control or/and vision. Run boy. Run.
Oh.
Lately just about every top football story on the BBC seems to be about Man Utd and Rooney and it has quickly gotten old. The BBC need to sort themselves out!
