Wayne Rooney: Man Utd striker to hold talks with David Moyes

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will this week hold face-to-face talks with new manager David Moyes over his future at Old Trafford.
The England international's future has been the subject of debate ever since Moyes' predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson claimed that Rooney made a verbal transfer request last season.
Rooney played under Moyes at Everton before a £27m switch to United in 2004.
And the pair, along with Rooney's agent Paul Stretford, will meet imminently.
The 27-year-old forward, who also asked to leave United in October 2010, was linked with a move to Paris St-Germain in April while more recently there has reportedly been interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.
Rooney did not feature in Ferguson's final home match before retirement against Swansea, although the former Everton man did join his team-mates in the Premier League title celebrations afterwards when United were presented with the trophy, receiving a mixed reception from supporters.
A resolution to the issue is high on the list of priorities for Moyes, who began his first official day in charge of United on Monday by appointing three members of his backroom staff from Everton including Steve Round as assistant manager.
Moyes and Rooney have had their differences in the past.
In 2008, Moyes accepted substantial libel damages over claims made in Rooney's book about their relationship at Everton.
Since then, however, the pair have been reconciled.
In September 2012, Rooney wrote on Twitter: "Everton are playing brilliantly. David Moyes has done some job over the last 10 years."

Us United fans would wish him all the best, just as long as he doesn't stay in the Premier League.
Slow news day for the footall correspondents...
I want to leave I want to leave, I'll stay..... ...
The second biggest attention seeker to Jordan? (katie Price NOT Eddie)
Utd fans are angry and state it's about time he left and is a bit overrated
Utd make him the highest paid player in PL
Rooney states he never was going to leave and loves the club (BBC change picture to Rooney kissing Utd badge)
Utd fans state he is the only world class English Player
Deja Vu anyone?
Was this article seriously worth someone's time and our licence fee money to write? On top of that, it's been done to death already.
I hope they do not put the money towards a Ronaldo return, that would be a costly disaster. Swapping Rooney for Wilshire + cash makes sense
---------
Sp buying the worlds 2nd best player would be a disaster but swapping Rooney for a perpetually injured Arsenal player would make good business sense.
That's probably why your job doesn't involve football management
Of course, "clear the air" really means he wants more money.
I am always amazed how quickly the "love" drains out of the relationship between a player and manager.
The lad should look at Giggs and Scholes, count the trophies not the pounds shilling and pence.
How much more money can anyone player want ?
Davidindevon: Why don't you say something which adds to the debate?
In the EPL Rooney was only joint 13th leading goal scorer.
Thats behind RVP, Suarez, Bale, Benteke, Michu, Ba, Lukaku, Berbatov, Walcott.
He's level with midfielder Matta and behind Lampard.
13 goals a season is not world class, and ManUtd can easily get another 16 goal a season striker.
And as a result he's no longer the main man.
280 - Wedont - with all that hatred you are clearly a bitter.
.
"All right Dave. Did you you read my book?"
@258
His hair do is to the Premier League what Anne Hathaway's teeth are to Hollywood.
Now they have RVP, rooney isn't as important to the side and can no longer justify his huge wage demand.
this is the 2nd time Rooney has asked to leave, i think it'll also be his last.
one thing Utd have done well is get rid of players at the right time like Beckham, Keane, Stam, Van Nistlerooy, etc
