Merthyr Town will play home games during the opening six weeks of the new season at Cinderford in Gloucestershire.
The Martyrs will play home league and cup matches at Cinderford Town while a new 3G pitch is installed at Penydarren Park.
They will be the first Southern League club to play on a 3G pitch and expect it to be ready by the end of September.
The temporary move is subject to Football Association of Wales approval.
The club were unable to play on another ground in south Wales as no ground had the appropriate Southern League ground grading in place by 31 March 2013.
The Merthyr board said they chose Cinderford due to shorter travelling distance and that supporters would not have to pay the Severn Bridge toll.
