@651Good point. We need an attitude change between youth level and the pros. We have some great kids and great coaches, teaching kids that their first touch is also their second touch but it doesn't translate to the seniors for some reason.
@ The Holy SmokeI don't think this is cleansing inasmuch as I think it is indicative of a tiny country finding its level. A very low level indeed. The romantic idea of more homegrown players 'enriching' the game starts to sour when you realise that Scotland is pretty much only capable of producing players who have a first touch akin to that of an indecent assault.
@648 - Not exclusive to football clubs.
@The Holy Smoke - thanks mateHorrace .... does that count ?? A riot in your national stadium two months ago?Again ..... just trying to help with your request ....
Any club that goes into administration seem to seek an advantage by wiping out their debts and move forward, surely this a form of cheating. An adequate punishment would be for this crowd to lose the name Hearts as they are in effect starting again. Also to take away any trophies they have won over the last 20 years, the length of time they have carried an unsustainable debt. Disgraceful.
@645,Sorry to butt in but does this count?http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4886782/Millwall-fans-riot-during-2-0-FA-Cup-semi-final-loss-to-Wigan.html
If a team transfers a player on a 'free' only for said club to go into Administration a week later and state they are putting the entire squad up for sale to pay their debts - a bit deceptive, wouldn't you say.Didn't Liverpool just transfer Danny Wilson on a free to Hearts?
@642HorraceYou asked "please provide a link to the last time English fans caused trouble"I provided you with that link which says"An England football fan is being questioned by police in connection with a fight that reportedly left a man in a coma, the Foreign Office said"That appears to be what you requested?Make up your mind ......
The comments so far are typical of us Scots (I'm choosing to ignore the 1s from some other nationalities). Rather than constructive comments and looking for solutions that plague our game, its the usual petty point scoring and acting like little internet warriors.
My only concern is of course that the integrity of Scottish football remains intact which it always was when the club was owned by shady dealers from the lands formerly beyond the Iron Curtain
@ 636 so an Englishman is arrested 75 miles from where a game is played and thats your proof? And it's hardly a riot.....Keep it coming though, and mind that chip on your shoulder.
