Braintree Town: Skipper Kenny Davis agrees new deal

Braintree

Braintree Town captain Kenny Davis has agreed a new 12-month contract with the Conference Premier club.

The 25-year-old midfielder joined the Iron from Grays in 2010 and has made 79 appearances, scoring 14 goals.

"We all know how important Kenny has been to our side over the past couple of years.

"He has spoken with a couple of other clubs, but he's a shrewd lad and has decided his future's with us," manager Alan Devonshire told the club website.

Davis is a non-league international and Devonshire said: "His regular inclusion in the England squad acknowledges his undoubted quality as a player."

Also re-signed for next season is striker Jordan Cox, who has yet to make his first start for the Iron and spent much of the season on loan at Ryman League Aveley.

"I now think he's ready to push on for a regular place in our side - it will be great for us to have more competition," Devonshire added.
