Crewe Alexandra: Ollie Turton signs new contract at Gresty Road
Crewe Alexandra defender Ollie Turton has signed a new 12-month contract with the League One club.
The 20-year-old Academy product, whose full debut came in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in October 2011, made his first-team breakthrough with 24 appearances this season.
Turton follows the lead of striker AJ Leitch-Smith and fellow defender Jon Guthrie in signing new one-year deals.
The Alex also hope to keep Luke Murphy despite interest from Aston Villa.
Meanwhile, long-serving chairman John Bowler, who has headed the board at Gresty Road since 1987, was honoured at the 21st League Managers Association annual dinner in London on Monday night, collecting a Special Merit Award for Services to Football.
Bowler follows in the footsteps of former Alex manager Dario Gradi, who won a special merit award in 2007.
