This will be added to short reigns along with Brian Clough (former Forest manager), Mick Harford (former Forest coach and caretaker manager), Sean O'Driscoll (former Forest manager), Gary Megson, (former Forest manager), Dave Bassett (former Forest manager). and Colin Todd (former Forest manager).
@671 Forestfansince74LOL, A***hole.
Seemingly the real reason McLeish had to quit, is that he was clocked for speeding away from yet another defeat and driving a car for which he was not insured. McLeish admitted the offense, saying "it was the only way I could get 3 points".
what the hell is happening to this club??? what chance do we have when we chop and change every 40 days??? Billy Davis was great coach, Sean O Driscoll was solid and getting the squad better, McLeish, McClaren apparently know a thing about football. If it were Billy Davis I would run a mile. I am this close to positng my jersey back.
Hasawi dunt knw is elbow from his fart pipe...marchin on together
Why is there no news in mainstream scottish media about the SEVCO Winding Up order. Head being buried in sand again.
I'm one of the Toon Army. Like many others of that ilk I despaired at what was happening to the club in the first years of our current owner. It has taken some time and anguish but now it seems that NUFC are on a more even keel, both on and off the field. I can only hope that things work out in a similar fashion for Forest.
Of course it's all just been a ruse by The Al Hasawi's. Put a few 'no hopers' in charge ranging from average to downright awful to warm up the managers chair, let the club hit rock bottom (we hit rock bottom the day Alex McLeish came to town) leave the fans desperate for a saviour....then bring back Billy Davies to even bigger acclaim than when he first took the job. A stroke of pure genius!!!
Few comments I'm reading about bad owners...embarrassing the club. Do they threaten the sustainability of the club. Forest were/are losing £250,000 a week. Without these owners the club isn't viable. We can argue about bad owners. without these guys or Doughty forest wouldn't be here. The football business model is wrong. The "richest" club in uk is approx £600mio in debt. What's sustainable?
The problems stem from the doughty era. Davies left cos of the transfer committee. Ludicrous situation caused him to leave. Then mclaren mistake. Commendably admitted by doughty. Doughty then died leaving club in turmoil. No fin support = no club. New owners (cash) thankfully came in. Weren't gonna give o Driscoll money. Wanted big name. Mistake made. Now on way to be corrected. Wait and see.
Unsustainable debt or on the pitch failure are not the only alternative -witness the Bundesligia with strong supporter involvement, sane pricing and community owned stadia-their clubs are not doing badly on it either!
657. If only owners would listen. Look at the protests at MUFC over the Glazers in 2005/6 yet still went ahead. Everything since has been small time really. Fans are not considered and are the cattle they feed dross at a high price to, and we swallow it. Still hapening now.Big Eck never got going really and better of out of this club
And now it begins to l;ook like the return of Billy Davies. Of course he should never have been sacked, but the whole saga is beginning to reach the comic heights of Fawlty Towers-Fawlty Ground perhaps?
