Ebbsfleet Utd 3-1 Gateshead

Ebbsfleet picked up their first win in nine Blue Square Bet Premier games with victory over fellow strugglers Gateshead.

Josh Scott prodded in to give the hosts the lead early on, but the Heed levelled when Josh Gillies swept home after Liam Hatch's header was blocked.

Scott added his second from 12 yards out after the visitors failed to clear Craig Stone's cross.

Liam Enver-Marum put the game to bed by heading in Gareth Gwillim's corner.

Despite the win, Ebbsfleet remained bottom of the Conference, with Gateshead just two points above the relegation zone.

Daish delighted by Fleet victory

"It's been a long time coming. We've been through a lot, it's been a tough month, but it's good to get back to winning ways and we deserved it today.

"Josh (Scott) and Stefan (Payne) were excellent, we got hold of the ball up front. They really contributed today.

"Craig Stone was excellent first half, so was Neil Barrett, and I was pleased for Jack Saville. He went out and defended manfully and that's what we need."
