Get stuck in Mark.Love your rolls BTW
Like every Scotland fan should I'll give them a chance. Would not have been my 1st choice but now they are in charge I'll give them my full support. Just hope Strachan finds a way of playing both Fletcher & Rhodes together. We need to be more attacking, especially at home.
Actually I listened to the interview on Sportsound. McGhee came across as reasonable and pleased at getting the position but not ruling himself out of management jobs in the future. He is a very articulate man and a good representative for Scotland.Good luck to Mark and Gordon, hope it works out. Scotland needs a strong team.
Not to sure about the Strachan post ? SFA deflection move after CL,but MR MAGOO .
@13 McGhee is part-time.
" The Ego has landed "
It's like the old boys club. How can we justify two full time employees. Thought Scottish football was penniless. Money grows on trees apparently, paying for rubbish. What a track record both have?
@9 surely if you were offered a job with amazing salary you would have felt you had earned it and would have had to do something pretty good to have got it or at least had a good CV and attended an interview. None of this applies to McGhee, he was a failure in his last 2 posts and his pal got him job so he's got someone to banter with on flights and during training. Its sad really!
Wasn't keen on Strachan. And saw enough of McGhee in Aberdeen to be seriously concerned now. The whole of Scottish football at every level stinks of cronyism. Two great players but poor managers with records of spending money to go slowly backwards. And with no money to spend and already in reverse gear things are looking dreadful.
McGhee? A joke of a 'manager'. Has been since he was sacked by Wolves years ago. Good luck Scotland, you're gonna need it!
If I were unemployed, offered a job with amazing salary, then I'd take it....... I know many of you work shy folks out there wouldn't, but McGee needs income like everyone else, and it must be degrading to be seen signing on week after week, after having previously held down many top footballing jobs.Good luck....... Scotland needs it.
@7 agreed, no1 cares McGhee you are a failure and how u got that job only god knows. I was happy with Strachan but if he's just gonna employ his pals to keep them in work then he might as well do 1 now before he does anymore damage.
HAHA I just love how this story has about 7 comments and the rest have hundreds! Nobody cares McGhee! Nobody cares!
I cannot understand how the guy is rewarded with this job, after failure at Bristol Rovers and before that, Aberdeen.It seems that dumping a club at the foot of the English Football League holds no concern for the SFA. The fact he is Gordon's mate is much more important!
Credibility is always the issue. Perhaps as a number 2 he may find a role that suits him but football is a funny o.d world when it appears that repeated failure is rewarded. Imagine the Headteacher in Aberdenn dismissed for poor performance then asked to assist the Cabinet Sec in running Scottish education?
Hopefully it will work out McGhee & Strachan are mates so will support each other. Mind you 1st thing Mark McGhee did at Aberdeen was sack Jim Leighton so perhaps that old team spirit doesn't exist.
Worst choice possible a failure in every job he has had, absolutely hopeless. Brighton, Wolves, Aberdeen, Bristol Rovers fail, fail, fail, fail.
He must be the only man who continually accepts new jobs, then immediately says it's not really the one he wants - he's really after something bigger.I just hope he realisis the damage his huge ego has had on his career before its too late.
I hope Gordon Strachan has got it right in selecting his number two, here is hoping. Best of luck
