Barrow boss Dave Bayliss has ruled out a return for Blackpool striker Louis Almond after his recent loan deal expired on New Year's Day.
The 20-year-old, in his third spell at Holker Street, failed to impress with two goals in 14 Bluebirds games.
"It's not as if he's not had game time but he's not done it towards the end," Bayliss told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"He's a young lad, he's got a lot of ability and a lot of potential but we need ready-made players now."
He added: "Young players sometimes slip into a lull and can't get out of it."
Almond first came on loan to Barrow in December 2010 and had an immediate impact with six goals in 20 games in the second half of the campaign.
His second stint produced one goal in 24 matches, although the Blackburn-born forward occupied a number of forward positions.
Bayliss's side are four points clear of safety at the foot of Blue Square Bet Premier, with an inferior goal difference requiring an extra point to pull clear of Telford.
