Marcello Trotta missed some good chances for the Bees and had a shot well saved by Town keeper Chris Weale.
Adam Forshaw missed another good chance late on for Brentford but Shrewsbury worked hard for the draw, making it only one defeat in the last eight.

Shrewsbury manager Graham Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire:
"In the team talk before the game, I talked about how it was about time we kept a clean sheet.
"Everyone worked hard to keep a clean sheet, and we did just that.
"We can do better, but it was a solid performance against a good Brentford team."
Brentford boss Uwe Rosler told BBC London 94.9:
"It was a fair result and I'm very happy with that point.
"At this time of year it's all about getting points from lots of games in difficult conditions.
"I couldn't ask for more. we had chances, they had chances.
"it was a fair point and a very important point."
