Rodgers coy on January signings
- From the section Football
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says he was "always confident" Raheem Sterling would sign a new contract, but remains coy on other players he wants to sign in the January transfer window.
Sterling, 18, is expected to sign a five-year deal on Friday and there has been speculation that Liverpool are close to signing Blackpool's Tom Ince and Chelsea's Daniel Sturridge.
Rodgers also talks about Liverpool's fixture against Zenit St Petersburg in the last 32 of the Europa League, describing the draw as "good" for his side as the second leg will be at Anfield.
