Craig Malcolm grabbed the only goal as Stranraer ended a run of six straight away defeats in Division Two by beating East Fife.
The home side, on a three-game winning streak in the league, dominated the opening half an hour.
Scott McBride and Liam Gormley were both thwarted by Stranraer goalkeeper David Mitchell inside seven minutes before Collin Samuel lashed a shot from 25 yards against a post.
East Fife were left stunned as Stranraer moved in front in the 34th minute, with Malcolm producing a close-range lob from Robert Love's cross for the midfielder's eighth goal of the season and third in four games.
Mitchell denied Robert Barr from 18 yards on the hour and Samuel nodded another effort over the bar from close in as the Fifers hunted an equaliser.
Stranraer's goalkeeper continued to frustrate the home side with another stop from Jordon Forster.
Their night was summed up when they hit a post for a second time through Jamie Pollock.
