Penalty was turning point - O'Neill
- From the section Football
Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill says the decision to award West Bromwich Albion a penalty "was a big decision" that deflated his team as they eventually lost 4-2 at the Stadium of Light.
O'Neill was pleased with the way his team fought back having trailed 2-0 at half-time, but believes Romelu Lukaku's penalty to put West Brom 3-1 up was the turning point.
The result means Sunderland now find themselves 16th in the Premier League table - just three points clear of the relegation zone.
