Southend 3-0 Stockport
Southend ensured there was no upset at Roots Hall as they put Stockport County out of the FA Cup with two late goals.
Barry Corr, who was making his first start for 18 months, headed home the opener from close range.
Despite starting the second half brightly Stockport failed to trouble their League Two hosts.
Marc Laird converted Michael Timlin's cross to double the lead before Freddie Eastwood blasted home Southend's third just before the final whistle.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Southend United manager Paul Sturrock told BBC Essex:
"It was a difficult game for us after the disappointments we've had lately at home. It was a cup tie and it was played in that kind of spirit.
"There was bits and pieces of decent football, we had a few chances we should have done better with and they had a couple of chances as well.
"Hopefully we'll take some confidence from the clean sheet, that's two in a row now.
"I'm just very pleased to get over this hurdle."
