Lincoln City 1-2 Luton
Jon Shaw's first goal since the opening day of the season secured victory for Luton at Lincoln.
The Hatters had lost their previous two away games, but went ahead when Imps goalkeeper Paul Farman palmed Andre Gray's cross into his own net.
And Shaw doubled the lead when he headed home Stuart Fleetwood's free-kick after being left unmarked.
Jamie Taylor, who had earlier forced a smart save from Mark Tyler, did pull a goal back with a powerful effort.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Lincoln City manager David Holdsworth told BBC Radio Lincolnshire:
"The margins were tiny. I'm not going to question Paul (Farman), he's been a fantastic goalie for us and then straight after half-time a slight adjustment from the defender has cost us but that defender's only been here a day so I won't have a go at Peter Gilbert.
"He tried to take responsibility by picking a man up. Those little things have been the costly ones.
"I thought we played some very good football. We kept the ball on the floor, we didn't have a target man so we tried a different format today and created some good chances.
"When you play against a good side you need everyone up for it and I thought most of our players were up for it and put some solid performances.
"Credit to the opposition for taking advantage but you can't give soft goals away."
