Pardew hopes Ba form continues

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew hopes Demba Ba can repeat last year's run of good form after the Senegalese striker scored the winner in their 1-0 victory over Norwich.

Ba, whose agent upset Pardew with comments suggesting the player may seek a move away from the club, scored his third goal in two games to spoil Norwich manager Chris Hughton's return to Newcastle.

Pardew adds that Papiss Cisse was a "surprise" choice to take the first-half penalty, which he missed.
