Newly-promoted St Brelade started their Jersey Premiership campaign with a 1-1 draw at Grouville.
Kyle Hampshire netted for St Brelade while Bradley Russell got on the scoresheet for the hosts.
In the only other top-flight game in the island on Saturday, Rozel Rovers grabbed a 3-0 win at St Lawrence.
Ryan Le Cornu put them on their way just before half-time, with Aaron Maynard doubling the lead before Le Cornu's second sealed the win late on.
Meanwhile in the Jeremie Cup first round, Guernsey side Northerners thumped Jersey Wanderers 5-1.
Elsewhere two first-half headers from Luke Watson sent St Paul's through with a 2-0 win over St Peter.
