Chesterfield picked up their first league win of 2012-13 against Wycombe.
The visitors were a man down after just 10 minutes, Leon Johnson sent off for pulling down Marc Richards with the striker through on goal.
And Chesterfield made their advantage count, with debutant Chris Atkinson and Jack Lester putting the hosts 2-0 up.
Neal Trotman sliced a corner into his own net to bring Wycombe back into the game, but a header from Sam Hird made the result safe.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Chesterfield caretaker manager Tommy Wright told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"I thought first half, we were excellent.
"The sending off obviously affected the game and I think it was a (justified) sending off."
"Second half, I thought Wycombe were excellent with 10 men and you sometimes get that - I thought they played better with 10 men."
