Matt Ritchie signs Swindon Town contract extension
Swindon Town midfielder Matt Ritchie has signed a contract extension to keep him at the County Ground until 2014.
The 22-year-old winger first joined the Robins on loan from hometown club Portsmouth in 2010, before making a permanent switch a year later.
He has since made 81 appearances, scoring 17 goals, and helped Paolo Di Canio's side win the League Two title last season.
"It's a good decision on my behalf," Ritchie told BBC Wiltshire.
"The club has shown ambition this year so hopefully it can be as successful as last year.
"We've spent money and got in very good players so hopefully we can have a good go at getting in the Championship."
Ritchie's performances last season earned him the League Two player of the year title, and Swindon were forced to fend off bids from Bournemouth for their star player.
He has continued his form this campaign - scoring two goals in five games - although he is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury.
