Lincoln City injuries taking toll - David Holdsworth

David Holdsworth

Lincoln City boss David Holdsworth says his small squad is struggling to cope with their mounting injury list.

Alan Power and Andrew Boyce were the latest players to suffer injuries in Tuesday's loss against Alfreton Town.

Holdsworth, whose side have only picked up five points from the first seven Blue Square Bet Premier games, told BBC Lincolnshire: "It's been difficult to field a side of fit players.

Holdsworth laments new injury woes

"We've lost around eight players and we don't have a squad that can cope."

Striker Rob Duffy and Conal Platt are just two of the star names currently sidelined.

Power could now be out for a couple of months with an ankle injury while Boyce has a knee injury and may be out for several weeks.

Lincoln City are fifth from bottom in the table following the 2-1 home defeat against Alfreton - a result which extends their winless run to six games.
