Billy Clarke accepts rotation policy at Crawley Town

Crawley Town forward Billy Clarke accepts that manager Richie Barker will rotate his squad this season.

Clarke, 25, came off the bench to score in the Capital One Cup victory over Bolton on Tuesday.

He told BBC Sussex: "We've got a squad so he [Barker] will utilise everyone in the squad. I'll play one day with someone else on the bench.

Crawley must retain hunger - Clarke

"That's how football goes at every club. I need to be ready when I am playing, and that goes for everyone."

He added: "Nicky Ajose has scored in the last couple of games and has looked lively and it's good for the squad to have good attacking players.

"Throughout the whole team we are solid, but I think the manager wants to bring in a couple more and that will only make us stronger."

The West Sussex side have progressed to the third round of the League Cup for the first time in their history and have now beaten five Championship sides in cup competitions in the last three seasons.

However, Clarke has warned his team-mates they must re-focus for the visit of Leyton Orient in League One on Saturday.

"Beating Bolton was a good result for us but Leyton Orient are a side who will give us a tough game," added Clarke.

"It's very early in the league and we'll need to be at our best and as hungry as we were against Bolton."
