Coleraine to host Linfield in League Cup third round

Coleraine's clash against Linfield was the stand-out tie in Wednesday's third-round draw for the League Cup.

The Showgrounds encounter is one of eight games to be played on 9 October.

Holders Crusaders visit Carrick Rangers, Glentoran are at Institute, Cliftonville host Ballinamallard and Portadown travel to Bangor.

Ballymena United entertain H&W Welders, Coagh United will fancy an upset at home against Lisburn Distillery and Dergview are away to Glenavon.

Championship sides Coagh and the Welders provided the surprises in Monday's second round after they knocked out Premiership opposition.

Coagh defeated Dungannon Swifts 7-6 on penalties after the Stangmore Park game ended 2-2.

The Welders dumped out Donegal Celtic thanks to a 2-1 victory at Suffolk Park.

Coleraine and Linfield have already met this season, with the Premiership match at Windsor Park finishing in a scoreless draw.
