Andy Morrell frustrated by Wrexham's start to season

Player-manager Andy Morrell believes a win will kick-start Wrexham's season after seeing his side held to a home goalless draw by Grimsby.

Wrexham have made an indifferent start to the season and are 13th in the Conference with five points from their opening four games.

Morrell's side travel to Tamworth on Monday and face an unbeaten side that are third in the table.

"We haven't fully got going yet," Morrell said.

"At times we play some really good stuff, we create chances and look a really tidy team.

"But at other times we look like we've not played with each other at some point.

"We've got a good team here and we just need to probably raise it 10% to get that win.

"[We] probably need that win to get us going again."

Wrexham's draw against Grimsby was the second time they have had to settle for a point this season.

Their only win of the season so far came against Woking on the opening day of the season while they lost 2-0 at Macclesfield.

Monday's opponents Tamworth have won three of their opening four matches and Morrell is expecting a tough game at the Lamb Ground.

"They've started really well so that's going to be another tough game," Morrell said.

"We looked at our start [and] it could have been worse.

"However the teams we've ended up playing are doing really well at the minute. We've just got to raise our game."
