Crawley Town sign former Swansea defender Joe Walsh
Crawley Town have completed the signing of former Swansea defender Joe Walsh on a free transfer.
The 20-year-old came through the youth ranks at the Welsh club but left this summer after just two appearances.
The Wales Under-21 international has signed a one-year deal, with an option for a further year.
"Joe is someone I have been aware of for a while and when I knew he was available it looked a good fit," Reds boss Richie Barker said.
"He is good cover for the two centre-halves and Mat Sadler at left-back.
"He ticks a lot of boxes in terms of what he brings to the squad and getting younger players into the football club who we think we can improve."
Walsh signed professional forms with Swansea in 2009 but was restricted to two outings in the League Cup, and is now looking to re-launch his career at the Broadfield Stadium.
"It was hard at Swansea," Walsh said.
"When they signed me they were in League One but they went up through the Championship and into the Premier League.
"Although it was great to train with a lot of quality players it was hard to get too many chances so I had to move on really.
"I want to get some games under my belt and kick-start my career here."
