Tamworth 0-1 Wrexham

Duane Courtney scored an own goal as Wrexham inflicted Tamworth's first defeat of the season in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Johnny Hunt's inswinging free-kick was headed into his own net by Courtney after eight minutes.

Wrexham wasted further chances lead and Neil Ashton fired a second-half penalty wide after Robert Ogleby was fouled by Richard Tait.

The Lambs had Tommy Wright sent off for a clash with Hunt.

Substitute Danny Wright wasted two late chances for Wrexham, who sealed their second league win of the season.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Wrexham player-manager Andy Morrell told BBC Radio Wales:

"[I] thought our performance was really good, especially the first half an hour. I thought we were right at it and we had chances.

"[We've] just got to be more clinical but I thought we defended great again. It's another clean sheet. I thought we thoroughly deserved it."
