Aldershot Town manager Dean Holdsworth believes his side will learn from their Capital One Cup defeat by Wolves.

The League Two side were beaten 7-6 on penalties following a 1-1 draw at Molineux on Saturday.

Holdsworth told BBC Surrey: "It's a cruel way to go out but there are a lot of positives.

"I'm very proud of that performance; the effort, character and the ability to concentrate and keep to the game-plan against a very good side."

Holdsworth continued: "Our youngsters are going to grow in stature. They are not fazed by anything.

"Those who were involved were involved in something very good.

"We showed what we are about. There was a never-say-die attitude and we passed the ball when we could.

"We're going into a big campaign and I want to use this as a platform for the standard that we can get to."
