Berwick Rangers 0-0 Elgin City
Elgin City held out with 10 men for 67 minutes to earn a goalless draw away to Berwick Rangers in their Division Three opener.
The visitors will be the more pleased with a point from the stalemate, having had midfielder Daniel Moore sent off after 23 minutes for a professional foul on Chris Townsley.
Kevin McDonald's free-kick created a good close-range chance for Berwick's Fraser McLaren, but he sent his right-footed shot flashing past the left-hand upright.
Elgin were left trying their luck from distance, but both Brian Cameron and Craig Gunn failed to hit the target with efforts from outside the penalty area.
Berwick pressed for the breakthrough as the match wore on, but Fraser McLaren was denied by a fine save from John Gibson.
Meanwhile, the impressive McDonald twice sent free-kicks flashing narrowly wide.
