MK Dons have handed a two-year contract to midfielder Darren Potter.
The 27-year-old's current deal was set to expire this summer, after joining from League One rivals Sheffield Wednesday in June last year.
He has started 36 league games this term, contributing two goals and three assists.
"There has been a bit of talk about it over the last few weeks so it's great to have finally signed," he told the club's website.
"The most important thing for me is I have enjoyed my football since I've been here.
"We play good attractive football and everyone knows the style the manager wants. We have implemented that in the league this season and I've thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it.
Boss Karl Robinson added: "I'm over the moon. I fought hard to get him over the summer so to acquire his services for another two seasons is a remarkable achievement by the club.
"He is a no-nonsense player, a tremendous athlete and tremendous professional.
"He is key to our success. The future is bright when you have the likes of Darren Potter committing his future."
