Derry City comfortably defeated Finn Harps in Monday's EA Sports Cup second round tie at the Brandywell.
Mark Farren, Stephen McLaughlin and Patrick McEleney had first-half chances before Barry Molloy steered the ball into the roof of the net on 37 minutes.
McEleney then shot home from the edge of the box and Farren fired in the third before the interval.
Molloy scored his second of the game when he headed home from a Matthew Crossan corner in the 86th minute.
Farren fired over from close range after 18 minutes and McLaughlin was inches wide with a low shot on the half hour.
McEleney flashed a shot wide from the edge of the box five minutes before the interval.
Farren provided the assist for Molloy's opener and the Candystripes' next two goals came in first-half injury time.
