Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton says he has not given up on escaping relegation, although he admits time is running out for his side.
Appleton's side were beaten 5-1 by Burnley on Saturday and are five points from safety with six games left.
"While there are points to play for then you have to keep on believing," Appleton told BBC Radio Solent.
"I've been saying for a while, if we can take it to the end of the season then so be it."
Pompey face south-coast rivals Southampton on Saturday and Appleton believes it is the perfect game for his side to bounce back from their disappointing result at the weekend.
"I can't think of a better game for us to play for us to try to get a bit of pride back," he added.
