Tamworth's Danny Thomas scored two own goals at Sincil Bank as the Lambs were slaughtered 4-0 by in-form Lincoln.
Jefferson Louis set up Peter Bore to fire the Imps' first from close range on six minutes before Thomas diverted the ball into his own net.
Lincoln secured the points a minute into the second half when Alan Power scored from the spot after Charlie Collins brought down Josh Gowling.
Thomas then beat his own keeper for the second time eight minutes from time.
The Imps have now won three in a row to move to 17th in the Blue Square Bet Premier, five points clear of danger, easing fears of a second consecutive relegation.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Lincoln City coach Gary Charles told BBC Lincolnshire:
"I'm over the moon. A lot of hard work's gone on behind the scenes and we're finally starting to see it pay off.
"When you win games it gives the whole club belief but the gaffer (David Holdsworth) got everything spot-on with his tactics and it's worked a treat.
"We always look to start the game quickly and we thought if we got at them we would be all right and that was the case.
"Every one of the players competed and I think if we compete then we've got a good chance of winning games. I honestly feel we've got more ability in out team than any team that comes here.
"I see the boys train every day and I know what they're capable of. If they maximise their potential then I don't see there being a problem for us."
