Scunthorpe 1-1 Charlton

League One leaders Charlton remain nine points clear at the top of the table after being held by Scunthorpe.

Bradley Wright-Phillips opened the scoring for the Addicks with a brilliant finish from Chris Solly's cross - his 20th goal of the season.

Jon Parkin levelled for the struggling Iron with a penalty after Rhoys Wiggins brought down Garry Thompson.

And Scunthorpe could have won it but for Addicks keeper Ben Hamer denying Thomson and Andy Barcham.

Scunthorpe United boss Alan Knill told BBC Radio Humberside:

"I have to say, I thought it was a great game.

We're in a dog fight - Knill

"We said before the start of the match, and I think we're a match for anybody.

"We're starting to prove it, and I thought it was a real good performance today.

"People say we're in a dog fight, so the first thing you have got to do is fight."

Powell happy to stop the rot

Charlton boss Chris Powell told BBC London 94.9:

"After two defeats at home it hit us hard, but coming here it's a difficult place.

"We trained and prepared well for this game and we got a great start which is what I wanted.

"Bradley Wright-Phillips has been excellent, 20 goals is a great achievement and he has looked really sharp recently."
