Claude Gnakpa has joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle until the end of the season after leaving Walsall.
Frenchman Gnakpa, 28, is a winger who can also play in defence and played for Swindon, Peterborough and Luton before joining Walsall last year.
Caley boss Terry Butcher said: "He will be a very exciting asset to the club.
"I have been tracking Claude for a good number of years, but never managed to get him so we're very pleased that he has flown north and put pen to paper."
After spells in his homeland with Marignane and Beaucaire, Gnakpa spent time in Spain with Racing Santander B and Alaves B before joining Liechtenstein-based Swiss Football League side Vaduz and then Swindon.
"He's big, strong and pacy and can score goals," added Butcher on the Inverness website.
"Claude joins Kenny Gillet and Gregory Tade to give us a triple French influence in our squad.
"Having already landed striker Sam Winnall from Wolves on loan, it gives us more depth in a pool which has continuously been depleted by serious injuries."
