Yeovil hung on against 10-man Preston to climb out of the relegation zone.
Preston played virtually the entire game with 10 men after defender Craig Morgan was sent off in the third minute for holding back Andy Williams.
Yeovil went ahead when Williams seized on a mistake by Clarke Carlisle, and then doubled the lead with a tap-in.
Preston pulled one back when Carlisle headed in Paul Parry's cross but Yeovil held on despite having Paul Huntington sent off for violent conduct.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson told BBC Somerset:
"It was a big three points. You ask any manager that has to play 86 minutes with 11 men against 10 in your favour.
"Although it may seem handy, you also know that it's a difficult one, especially when we'd created so many opportunities.
"I was really disappointed with the (Huntington) red card and it's definitely one we will appeal.
"He (referee) thought it was an aggressive tackle but that's the idea of a tackle, you've got to go and win the ball."
