Ten-man Newport County secured a valuable point at home to Forest Green.
The hosts lost Ismail Yakubu for a second yellow card after only 32 minutes after a foul on James Norwood.
Newport's best chances fell to Elliott Buchanan and Nathaniel Jarvis - the latter saw his header saved by Rovers goalkeeper Sam Russell.
Michael Uwezu spurned a half-chance to score a late winner for the visitors, as Newport stay a point clear of the drop zone.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Newport County manager Justin Edinburgh told BBC Radio Wales:
"The attitude, commitment and work-rate was immense from the players. I'm absolutely delighted and proud of the team and the performance they put in.
"A lot of decisions went against us. Ismail [Yakubu] made two fouls in the game and got sent off.
"I've seen consistent fouling out there from other players that didn't result in yellow cards."
Forest Green Manager Dave Hockaday told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:
"We haven't been outplayed, but we haven't outscored them and that's the key area.
"We need to be more threatening, we're not capitalising on our territory or possession and I couldn't see us scoring today.
"We looked a bit rusty. Before the game if you'd given me a point I would have taken it."
