Antony Sweeney scored a late equaliser to secure Hartlepool a point at high-flying Sheffield Wednesday.
Rob Jones, Danny Baath and Gary Madine all went close for the hosts in a goalless first half.
Peter Hartley's header from Evan Horwood's corner put the visitors ahead, before a solo goal from sub Jermaine Johnson drew the Owls level.
Gary Madine's first-time shot gave Wednesday the lead, but Sweeney's neat lob saw the game end all square.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson tells BBC Radio Sheffield:
"I think being up 2-1 with three minutes to go, it has got to be seen as a disappointment.
"We've had 11 good chances and we've only scored two. They've had two and they've put them both in.
"Little things make such big differences and if we look back on the last three or four games, I would think that we've chucked away six or seven points."
