Paul Peschisolido is to stay on as Burton Albion boss after rejecting the opportunity to talk to managerless League Two rivals Bristol Rovers.
Rovers were granted permission to talk to the 40-year-old following Paul Buckle's sacking last week.
But a statement issued by the Brewers said Peschisolido was "flattered but had politely declined" the offer.
"Paul is looking forward to continuing to build upon an encouraging start to the season," the statement added.
Buckle left the Pirates after a poor run of results which saw them pick up just five points in 10 games.
Former Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll has also been linked with the position.
Peschisolido has been with the Brewers since May 2009 - his first managerial appointment - and has guided the club to eighth place in League Two, just one point adrift of the play-off places.
Rovers are 17th, five points above the relegation zone.
