Chelmsford City manager Glenn Pennyfather says his side's first league loss in over four months will serve as a wake-up call.

The Clarets dropped to third in the Blue Square Bet South on Saturday after a 3-2 defeat at home to Sutton United ended their unbeaten run of 17 matches.

Pennyfather told BBC Essex: "Maybe it's a wake-up call for us to realise that we can concede silly goals.

"We'll put that right between now and next Saturday."

The result means Chelmsford are now 14 points behind leaders Woking.

The Essex side visit Truro City this weekend.
