Gainsborough Trinity manager Steve Housham hailed his side's performance in their 2-0 win over Blue Square Bet North leaders Hyde at the Northolme.
Ryan Kendall gave the Blues a first-half lead with Gavin Cowan netting the second goal after the break.
"It was a great win," Housham told BBC Lincolnshire. "It just shows what we are capable of and the best team won.
"They had a lot of possession but we had a gameplan. We were dangerous on set-pieces and we got our rewards."
Kendall struck after 15 minutes when Hyde failed to clear a corner from Kevin Sandwith, and it was another Sandwith corner which led to Cowan making it 2-0 seven minutes into the second half.
"Our quality shone through with our delivery," said Housham. "They weren't a very big side and we had quality and were brave in both boxes.
"Our back four can also be proud of what they've done to keep a clean sheet against the league leaders.
"We've now got 20 cup finals and we know realistically what we need to make the play-offs."
The win leaves Trinity one point behind FC Halifax in the last of the four play-off positions.
